About Griffin Academy
Griffin Academy Middle and High Schools are two contiguous public charter schools serving students in grades 6–12. Our close-knit learning community combines rigorous academics, college preparation, personalized support, and opportunities designed to help students graduate ready for college, career, and life.
A Small School Experience With Big Opportunities
Griffin Academy Middle School was granted its charter in 2018, followed by Griffin Academy High School the following year. Griffin Academy staff is committed to providing each student with a comprehensive education, the Gradient Learning Platform, a school-wide AVID program, and the support needed to become college and career ready.
Our dual enrollment program, in cooperation with Contra Costa Community College, gives students access to college coursework while remaining supported within their high school environment. Families value Griffin Academy’s welcoming, close-knit atmosphere and personalized approach to student success.
Vallejo’s First Early College High School
Griffin Academy is proud to serve students in grades 9–12 through an Early College High School model that brings college coursework directly into the high school experience.
Bringing College Into the High School Experience
Rather than requiring students to leave campus for college coursework, Griffin Academy brings college learning into the high school space with additional coaching, mentorship, and academic counseling.
College Coursework
College classes are integrated into the high school curriculum, giving students an opportunity to begin earning college credit before graduation.
Coaching & Support
Students receive mentorship and support from a certificated academic counselor within an environment designed to be developmentally appropriate for adolescents.
A Stronger College Transition
The Early College model helps students become familiar with college-level expectations before graduation and supports students who may be the first in their families to pursue higher education.
Preparing Students to Own Their Future
Griffin Academy is rooted in Advancement Via Individual Determination principles and is committed to a school-wide AVID model emphasizing leadership, systems, instruction, and culture.
